Outboard Motor Mount

Got no place on your stern rail to put that nice teak motor mount because your stainless has too many curves & angles? Here's an inexpensive solution that may work for you. Measure the distance from the upper rail to the lower rail and purchase a length of stainless tubing (12 inches or so will generally do it) and a PVC Tee with the same ID, inside diameter. Cut the PVC Tee lengthwise so that it will fit around your existing bottom rail. Fit the short length of stainless into the bottom of the teak motor mount and into the top of 1/2 of the tee. Secure the two halves of the tee around the stainless with hose clamps or hefty cable ties and your done. To upgrade from PVC (after you're sure you like it) invest a bit more money and get a stainless tee!
